Finance Fund Develops 100+ Units of Middle Income Housing in Downtown Columbus

Vera on Broad, which will soon be home to over 100 units of middle-income housing and parking spaces in Downtown Columbus, is a mixed-use project that will include 13,000 sq. ft. of offi ce, retail, and amenity space. Units are anticipated to be priced at 60% – 120% of area median income (AMI) with an average rent of 80% AMI.

Vera will consist of two buildings, the renovation of an existing historic building and
the construction of an adjacent 8-story building that will play a critical role in fi lling
a specific gap of housing affordability in Downtown Columbus, while contributing
to the vibrancy and rich architectural footprint of the surrounding Discovery District
neighborhood.

Vera will transform the Broad Street landscape while preserving the historic character of the site, in line with our approach of maximizing functionality without sacrificing aesthetics,” said Paul Ghidotti, President of Daimler Group, the general contractor and an investor for the project.

Utilizing traditional construction materials, the design will create a bold, yet simple,
contemporary statement. The site will host a hometown coffee shop as well as
reservable, walk-up workspaces in an energetic atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. The unit mix will include efficiency, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and even three-bedroom apartments for professionals with families.

Residents will have access to an outdoor patio space as well as a rooftop terrace with stunning downtown views. Plans are in place to highlight the work of local artists across mediums in Vera’s communal spaces.

Vera on Broad will allow middle-income people the chance to live near where they
work, or the opportunity to live in the dynamic downtown Discovery District, at reasonable rental rates.
